This explains the high prevalence of plants that are typical of the Mediterranean region. Everywhere you can find palm trees and cypresses, and above all this, thriving grapevines.
In such a climate-friendly environment, the outdoor sports season lasts relatively long, which is why the Golf Club Passeier near St. Leonhard is playable for almost the entire year. The winter break only lasts a few months, so you can chase the balls over the lawn from March to November.
Golf Club Passiria
Although the 18-hole course is located in the mountain world of South Tyrol, it was designed to be relatively flat, making the game interesting not only for professionals but also for beginners in golf. Nevertheless, it should not be assumed that the level of challenge was set too low. Narrow fairways, several bunkers, and water hazards in the form of seven small lily ponds require a certain level of skill and precise tee-off technique.
The layout of the course was designed by the well-known Golf architect Wilfried Moroder from Bozen. He has wonderfully succeeded in making optimal use of the geographical conditions and at the same time respectfully dealing with the regional appearance. The breath of nature is still clearly noticeable here and gives you a tremendous boost of energy for athletic and strategic planning performances.
Terraces as a challenge
What sets this golf course apart from other representatives of its kind is the terraced layout. The driving range, for example, has two floors with a total of 20 teeing grounds. Half of them have been provided with a protective roof. A chipping green and a putting green complete the practice area. The courses were also partially arranged in terraces and, in combination with the water hazards and bunkers, provide a perfect foundation for “target golf play”, a discipline in which experienced strategists feel particularly comfortable. A total length of almost 5,800 meters and a par of 71 make the size of this facility clear.
The school of professionals
You can take training sessions at the in-house golf school, where Golf Pro Daniel Erlebach with rich experience and solid knowledge will be by your side. The course offering covers a wide variety and ranges from individual lessons to group courses, improvement training, and children's courses to intensive golf weeks, where you can go from the first starting point to course approval, and where all the necessary rules are explained to you. Rental clubs and practice balls are of course included. It may take a while to reach tournament readiness, but it can also be interesting to watch the pros tee off in the meantime. You can find the tournament calendar on the official website of the Golf Club Passeier - as well as the score card and the course rules, the detailed description of the individual courses, and of course information on membership, prices, and opening hours. www.golfclubpasseier.com
In the attractively designed clubhouse, exquisite meals are also prepared for you. Regional and international cuisine share the space on the plates here and will round off your golf day with a touch of gourmet character. Enjoy your meal on the light-filled sun terrace. Add an Italian espresso or a glass of fine wine. This is how you can wonderfully enjoy your active holiday.
