Among lovers of mountain biking, the Karwendel round tour is considered a classic. It is extremely demanding and suitable only for experienced and physically strong athletes.
In individual stages, which are divided into 4 days, a total of 6,869 meters of altitude are overcome. The round tour runs from Kufstein to Achensee, via Scharnitz, Schwaz, and back to Kufstein. Highlights of the route include the gravel path to Achensee and the extensive downhill trail from Plumsjoch at 1,650m above sea level down to the 'Great Maple Ground'. The Karwendelhaus (1,765m) is one of the most important bases of the tour - it is idyllically nestled in the middle of the Karwendel area.
Towards the end of the tour, it even gets really comfortable: the ride through the Inn Valley on the way back to Kufstein is definitely something for pleasure cyclists.
