Advent like in childhood days

The scent of gingerbread, baked apples, cookies, twigs, mulled wine and tea awakens memories from childhood. Christmas tree baubles, straw stars and Christmas decorations are offered at the market stalls, candles, tinsel, nativity figures and entire nativity scenes, of course also cookies, pastries, sweets and candy. There is also wonderful toys and many handicraft products from jewelry to traditional South Tyrolean jackets. And that there are all sorts of delicacies to eat and drink, is certainly self-evident in South Tyrol.

The original South Tyrolean Christkindl markets take place annually in Bolzano, Bressanone, Merano, Vipiteno and Brunico. These cities with their charming historical centers with arcades and old, perhaps even snow-covered, bourgeois houses provide the perfect setting for the Christkindl markets and already put you in the mood for Advent. Here it is traditional and very authentic. In addition, there are many other, smaller and larger Advent markets, such as in Glorenza, Chiusa or in the Sarntal valley.

Our tip:

Enjoy the Advent season once again carefree as in childhood. Also take advantage of the numerous offers for the start of the season in the ski resorts and combine skiing fun with Christmas anticipation.
