La Villa

The Gadertal has many beautiful communities that attract numerous tourists every year. One of them, however, is particularly well-known. La Villa, also called "La Ila" or "Stern," has been hosting the Ski World Cup for many years and is therefore a familiar name for winter sports fans. Naturally, many fans also flock to the little village for this event, which welcomes its visitors with various accommodation options: Whether hotels, holiday apartments, guesthouses, apartments, or private accommodations - here, everyone will surely find the right place to stay.

More than just skiing

If you want to speed down the slopes yourself, then this region is the right place for you. Modern ski lifts take the daring to challenging slopes. For cross-country skiers, the three circuits around Armentarola are ideal. Even if the snow is lacking, artificial snow ensures carefree winter fun.

But even beyond winter sports, La Villa has a lot to offer: In the summer months, well-developed hiking trails that connect the villages of the Gadertal attract visitors. The village is surrounded by an idyllic panorama: Located at the foot of Gardenaccia and Piz la Villa, a mountain hike offers a breathtaking view. Depending on your hiking skills, you can choose between different levels of difficulty. A hike to the Ciastel Colz castle, located in the historic part of the community, is recommended. The nature parks Puez-Geisler and Fanes-Sennes-Prags also offer numerous hiking trails for relaxing but also more active walks. For experienced hikers, the Dolomite high-altitude trails are a challenge.

For those who still want more adventure than just hiking, the paragliding school offers taster or week courses. With a tandem flight, you can glide over the magnificent landscape and enjoy a particularly beautiful view of the mountains.

Goodbye boredom

To ensure that there is never a dull moment in La Villa, the tourism association organizes interesting events every season. Offered are concerts, folklore evenings, lectures, or guided hikes. Whether big or small - anyone looking to be entertained will surely find the right leisure activity in La Villa.

Culinary delights are also abundant in La Villa: Not only star restaurants, but also the quaint mountain huts offer traditional South Tyrolean cuisine. The language in La Villa has also remained traditional. Here, people still converse in Ladin.
