Fremdenverkehrsmuseum Hochpustertal (Tourism Museum)
Niederdorf was already part of the pioneer region of Tyrolean tourism, the Hochpustertal, 150 years ago and was easily accessible for city dwellers since 1871 via the Southern Railway.
The museum, which is housed in the Wassermann house, therefore shows a chronological passage from the beginnings of tourism, e.g. the journey of Isabella of Bourbon Parma and her staff, who stayed in the Wassermann house in 1760, up to the current tourism including the precursors of tourism (old inns and numerous baths), the construction of the Pustertal Railway and the early alpinism in the region. In addition to the tourist topics, the museum also processes local history topics, such as the collection of memorial cards from the Wassermann house. An infopoint in the museum offers interested parties the opportunity to research over 18,000 Tyrolean personalities.
