Even the annual bike marathon over the steep mountain passes of the Dolomites puts the region in a brightly lit sporting spotlight.
Alta Badia Golf Club
But the heart of the Dolomites beats for another sport - golfing. At the foot of the Sella Massif and the Sassongher, an impressively high mountain near Corvara, there is an idyllic plateau blessed with lush green meadows and wide spaces. The ideal conditions in the midst of a natural paradise were used to build a 9-hole golf course, because fairy tales don't always have to be found in old books. They can also take on a visible form in our real world and create exciting chapters of life.
High up and yet flat
In the High Abteital, at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level, you don't notice much of the hustle and bustle of the city. That's why those who are looking for restful peace feel right at home here. Although we are only a few kilometers from the center of Corvara, taking a deep breath of fresh mountain air makes it clear that nature shows itself from its intact side here.
From June to October, the Golf Club Alta Badia opens the doors to its golf course and offers a warm place in the South Tyrolean sun during this time. The difference in altitude within the facility is very low at 45 meters. This is also the reason why the course is also suitable for beginners who want to spend a holiday in the sign of pleasure here. However, keep in mind that the slope outside the facility is much steeper, so an inaccurately hit ball can take the path into the valley faster than you would like.
The alpine golf course has a total length of 2,730 meters. It has a practice area with a driving range (partly covered tees), putting green, pitching green, and chipping green as well as sand bunkers. Green hills and water hazards create a landscape that more than meets the demands of an enthusiastic golfer.
Everything one needs
Following the facility is a small clubhouse that not only has changing rooms and showers, but also offers snacks and drinks. There is also a small pro shop set up here to assist you in completing your equipment. You can also rent trolleys, carts, and sets of clubs here. For technically flawless play, the course's own golf instructor, Luca Cereghini, is happy to give you one or two tips. Guests are also welcome here, provided they have a club card with registered playing permission.
If you want to find out more about the individual holes, the prices, or the tournament dates, it's best to keep up to date via the official website of the Golf Club Alta Badia. Here you will also find hotel tips for your overnight stay very close to the scene. www.golfaltabadia.it/en
