Skiing and hiking in the recreation area 'Wilder Kaiser'

The "Wilder Kaiser-Brixental" mountain railways take vacationers to lofty heights; and there is much to discover there. In winter, you can expect superb skiing fun on 279km of downhill slopes and 91 ski lifts. If you want to take a break, you can stop at one of the 70 ski huts or one of the 18 restaurants that provide proper catering for winter sports enthusiasts in the recreational area. In the warm summer months, the "Wilder Kaiser" area transforms into a hiking paradise for young and old. The numerous themed hiking trails and adventure stations are particularly popular. For easy excursions, the panoramic hiking trail is recommended. It impresses with breathtaking views and offers a glimpse of some three-thousanders.

Flower lovers will be delighted by the alpine rose hike in June. At this time, hikers find themselves in a sea of flowers; these are impressions that are not easily forgotten. Especially for families, a marmot hike should be on the agenda. The cute animals reveal a piece of themselves and their natural habitat.

Great for the little ones: A visit to Hexenwasser Söll-Hohe Salve. Here, a world of a special kind has been created for children. As soon as you enter the magical world, you feel like you're in a large, walk-in fairy tale book. The chapters bear promising names like "Summstein," "Hexenleiter," or "Bienenhaus." Each station is a magical universe in itself - for example, you can explore the secrets of the witch's fire or watch busy bees at work in the show apiary.

Hiking in Kirchberg

Nestled in the Kitzbühel mountains is the tranquil village of Kirchberg. It is especially popular with active vacationers who want to combine peace and health, making it an ideal holiday destination. Just a few kilometers from Kitzbühel, it is the perfect starting point for outdoor activities.

When it comes to hiking, you have the agony of choice: family hiking, pleasure hiking, health & vitality hiking, guided mountain hikes, or exciting geocaching - everything is offered here. Not far from Kirchberg, in the Kitzbühel district, the district capital of the same name and St. Johann in Tirol have established themselves as the economic and tourist centers of the region. There, near the Bavarian border, summer holiday pleasures and skiing fun in powder snow await vacationers at an altitude of 670 meters.

Special summer activities in the Brixental

In the Brixental, you can experience an exciting sport: archery - a challenge for body and mind. At the lovingly designed Bogen Parcours in Bockern/Kirchberg, you can discover 28 three-dimensional life-size animal targets. This guarantees a hunting experience of a special class. Another way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life is leisurely fishing. The Erlensee in the Brixental is a gem for hobby fishermen and those who want to become one. In the early morning hours, you can feel the silence and tranquility best, making the success of catching fish almost secondary. Horse lovers should plan a visit to one of the numerous riding stables - relaxation is guaranteed - whether on a horse-drawn carriage ride or on the back of a faithful companion.

Tipp:
The Westendorf flight school offers fascinating tandem paragliding flights on the famous Choralpe. The short ascent time with the mountain railway, the large start meadow near the mountain station, the obstacle-free large takeoff area, and the favorable thermals are good reasons to start a tandem flight or even training for paragliding in the Brixental.
