Riding stables in South Tyrol

Riding is a sport that many learn at an early age and that usually never lets go. Accordingly, the availability of riding opportunities also plays an important role on vacation.

Riding is a sport that many people learn at an early age and usually never let go of. Accordingly, the availability of riding opportunities also plays an important role on vacation.
South Tyrol with its numerous natural beauties offers the ideal backdrop for a relaxing horseback ride through completely pristine terrain: panoramic views of the mountain world, cool forests, lush meadows, rustic mountain pastures but also rocky terrain in the mountains.

The Panoramic Horse Resort offers an unbeatably beautiful view over the entire valley due to its location on a slope above Brixen. And since it is located directly in the middle of nature, you are immediately in the greenery on every horseback ride.

The range of offers in South Tyrol is so diverse that every horse enthusiast can find the perfect program for them. Those who are just getting into equestrian sports can cuddle the miniature ponies, goats and donkeys in the petting zoos here, take riding lessons or participate in guided tours through the terrain. Advanced riders can then take a longer ride through the valleys, gorges, meadows and forests. And those who are already completely confident in the saddle can demonstrate their skills in dressage, show jumping or even western riding. All of this is offered to visitors by the riding stables of South Tyrol.

At Pinta's Appaloosa Ranch in Toblach, you can expect the spotted western horses of the Appaloosa breed, which are particularly friendly and have a lot of sportsmanship in them. Even more cowboy romance awaits you in the Ahrntal at Walter's Horses Ranch, where you can not only ride, but also grill sausages over a campfire and listen to wistful country music.

Even multi-day tours through alpine terrain can be experienced directly in the saddle in the form of guided group trips - an exalted feeling to climb the mountains on the back of a horse.

In addition, children can complete real summer camps here, where they not only learn how to handle animals, but also make many new friends and have an unforgettable vacation that they will remember for a long time.

The aforementioned Panoramic Horse Resort offers such a vacation for children. The Pozzamanigoni Riding Center near Wolkenstein near Bozen also offers this.

Therapy on strong hooves

The healing effect of horses is also what takes the burden of everyday life from our soul and body when trail riding. In harmony with the animal, thoughts can wander - one trusts the secure steps of the companion, trains their reaction and perception, lets the different muscle groups harmonize, and feels the strong connection to the origin. It is no coincidence that the horse is often used as a therapy animal when it comes to physical or emotional complaints. And this offer is also offered to you by South Tyrol's riding stables. For the so-called hippotherapy, you can register at the Kaserhof on the Ritten, which will be mentioned later.

Even the more leisurely among us do not have to miss out, as the South Tyrolean hosts also offer carriage rides that convey the flair of untouched nature from close proximity to horses, without having to acquire riding skills for it.

The Lana Riding Park offers carriage rides in addition to riding lessons for adults and children (riding hall and sand arena). The Oberfahrerhof Riding Stable with a view over Bozen and the Dolomites as well as the Sulfner Riding Stable in Hafling also join this tradition and offer you eventful rides in a horse-drawn carriage.
