Motorcycle tour: From the Außerfern to the Inn Valley and back

Lots of passes and curves in a dreamlike Alpine setting!
Tour length: 175km
Driving time: approx. 3.5 - 4.0 hours

Start from Reutte via the Hahntennjoch to Imst, further to Fließ, over the Piller into the Pitztal, further to Mötz and onto the Mieminger Plateau, over the Holzleitensattel and Fernpass back to the Außerfern.

Ehrenberg Castle near Reutte

Tiroler Lech Nature Reserve

Irene Ascher One of the few unspoiled Alpine rivers is the Lech. Special features of the nature reserve are the adjacent floodplain landscapes, an important habitat for a wide variety of animal and plant species. In Weißenbach an der Lech you will find the Nature Park House (as of 2013: under construction).

Hahntennjoch

Vince51 / GFDL The first highlight that gets the engine going leads up to 1,894 meters above sea level. The Hahntennjoch road connects the Lechtal with the Upper Inntal (Imst). Note: Winter closure from November to April; natural hazards such as rockfall and mudslides in bad weather;

Imst / Alpin Coaster

Imst Tourism A detour to Hochimst, with the cable car up to the middle station and down with the longest alpine roller coaster in the world. When it's not too busy: fun guaranteed!

Landeck Castle

Klaus Graf / CC BY-SA 3.0 Built on a towering rock above the Inn in the 13th century directly on the Via Claudia Augusta and former seat of jurisdiction. Today the castle is used as an interesting local history museum and gallery.

Zammer Lochputz

Piller
A beautiful viewpoint into the Upper Inntal is the Pillerhöhe on the way from Fließ to Arzl at the entrance of the Pitztal. Note: Above the viewpoint "Gacher Blick," locals sit on a bench, usually unnoticed by motorcyclists => If you feel too unobserved, you should look around first.

Area 47 (Ötztal Bahnhof)

Rudi Wyhlidal Outdoor fun of superlatives promises the Area 47, where you can engage in various activities such as climbing, sliding, caving, or canyoning.

Holzleitensattel

Ulflulfl / GFDL From Obsteig you reach Nassereith via the 1,120 meter high saddle. Moderate slope of 3.2%, beautiful wooded surroundings.

Fernpass / Blindsee

francois / CC BY 2.0 A little below the Fernpass (1,210 m) lies the idyllic, crystal-clear and turquoise Blindsee (1,093 m). In the summer months: Take a refreshing swim and swim a few laps!

Zugspitze

Nawi112 / GFDL The Zugspitzbahn from the Tyrolean village of Ehrwald leads up to almost three thousand meters. At the top, you can enjoy a breathtakingly beautiful view of the high peaks of the Alps and the Bavarian foothills. Tip: On the evening of an upcoming full moon night, drive up, in the west you can see the setting sun, in the east the rising full moon: wildly romantic and very impressive! There is, of course, gastronomy at the summit.
