The South Tyrolean Wine Road begins in Nals in the Adige Valley and leads through Bolzano, the wine villages of Überetsch and the South Tyrolean Unterland to Salurn. The immensely charming landscape, picturesque villages, numerous sights, castles and old mansions, and of course the many culinary specialties of the region can be wonderfully discovered by bike. In addition, the mild climate with around 300 sunny days a year is ideal for cycling: it really makes cycling fun.

Three pleasure cycling routes are available, each leading to a growing area of a special autochthonous South Tyrolean wine variety. The North route traverses the area of Lagrein, a noble red wine variety with a dark, ruby red color and great character. The Lagrein is either purebred or mixed with the equally autochthonous Vernatsch grape to create the popular, rather light Magdalener. The Sauvignon also thrives in this area between Nals and Bolzano in the highest quality.

The middle pleasure route leads on a route of around 23 km to the places around Lake Caldaro. The wine of the same name is made from the Vernatsch, which has its home here. The second typical grape variety of this region is the fresh and fruity Pinot Blanc. The southern cycling route - the longest of the three - takes us to the growing area of the legendary Gewürztraminer. This characterful, spicy white wine takes its name from the famous wine village of Tramin, which also marks the end point of this route.

The three pleasure cycling routes can be completed individually or as a whole. They all have hardly any significant inclines and are therefore also suitable for families. Detailed descriptions with many tips can be found in the South Tyrolean Wine Road cycling guide, and of course GPS tracks are also available.

The routes are traffic-calmed, so that relaxing and stress-free cycling through vineyards and apple orchards is possible. An all-round service ensures additional safety and relaxation: at all locations, the safe parking of bicycles is guaranteed. The pleasure cyclists also receive water first to quench their thirst, and only then wine for enjoyment. Any purchases do not have to be laboriously carried on the bike, but can be comfortably delivered to the holiday accommodation by a delivery service.

Wine and Bike: This is how the South Tyrolean Wine Road can be discovered more enjoyable than ever before!

Nature and tranquillity – but not far from the action. Modern and contemporary, but no standard thing. Attractive gourmet packages, every day, but not everyday. Authentic experiences on the subject of wine, but not just that. An oasis of well-being, but reduced to the essentials.
