For those who have not dared to discover the landscapes between Reschen and Innichen or between the Brenner and the Salurner Klause by bike, the e-bike now offers a completely new opportunity to do so. The tour or rental network for e-bikers is now very well developed, with the bike network extending across the entire region.
Explore South Tyrol in a relaxed way with the e-bike.
A particularly recommended route is the way from Bolzano via Appiano to Caldaro at the famous Lake Caldaro. With the e-bike, the easy inclines can be easily and environmentally friendly conquered, and cyclists have the opportunity to enjoy the unique landscape almost effortlessly.
Numerous rental stations
Very important for an e-bike tour is the range of the battery, which is usually designed for a distance of up to 80 kilometers. In South Tyrol, there are currently a total of 24 rental stations, which are on average 20 kilometers apart. If the battery should run out, it can be changed for free at one of the stations. Additional services include personal transport back and the bike taxi. This makes it possible to reach more distant destinations such as Venice, Trento, or Lake Garda. You can rent a bike with a charger, be conveniently picked up from the destination, and brought back to South Tyrol.
Explore Bolzano
The rental stations in Bolzano are also very well located. They are located directly at the Bolzano South train station or near the exhibition center, from where cyclists can easily reach the old town, the Laubengasse, or the fruit market. Here, the two most famous South Tyrolean cycling routes meet: the Via Claudia Augusta and the Brenner cycling route. The Via Claudia Augusta follows the course of the Adige and leads to the Vinschgau, while the Brenner cycling route reaches the picturesque towns of Klausen, Brixen, or Sterzing. Highly recommended is the "bikemobil Card," a combination ticket that allows you to use a rental bike, bus, and train for a day, three days, or a whole week.
E-Bike Pleasure Tours
Wine lovers embark on a gourmet tour. At the information office in Bolzano, you can get a cycling guide that includes, for example, the tour "In the Footsteps of Lake Caldaro and Pinot Bianco." The 23-kilometer round trip then takes e-bikers through famous wine villages on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, Appiano, and Caldaro, where you can taste the excellent Pinot Bianco.
