1. There's something blooming for you
How about a hike through the blooming nature in the mountain village of La Val? The small village, located at 1,348 meters above sea level, enchants its visitors with a spectacular mountain backdrop, impressive mountain meadows, quaint hay huts, and the farms of the "Viles". You can also choose from a variety of hiking trails here, ranging from short walks to challenging climbing tours.
2. Foaming river adventure
An unforgettable adventure is also a rafting tour with the whole family. This is possible, for example, on the fast-paced Eisack river near Sterzing, where you can glide along the river in a boat and experience the wild waters up close. On board is, of course, a well-trained boat guide who masters every rapid.
3. Beautiful view
There are more than enough fascinating views in South Tyrol, but one of the best is probably from the Schutzhütte "Schöne Aussicht", which is located at Hochferner. Surrounded by clear glacier air, you can look out over an endless sea of peaks and not only encounter nature but also yourself. Tip: Definitely try the dumpling soup!
4. Through the gorge
You will also experience many dreamlike moments on a hike through the Plima Gorge, which begins at the head of the Martell Valley and leads to the so-called Zufallhütte. During the hike, you will pass various points of interest, including the "Kelle in der Klamm", a steel construction from whose edge you can observe the rushing water.
5. Unique museums
Anyone interested in alpinism should definitely visit the Messner Mountain Museums, founded by Reinhold Messner. There are now six different museums, each dedicated to a specific theme, including topics such as the formation and ascent of the mountains, rock climbing, or mountain peoples.
6. Impressive natural spectacle
An excursion to the Piramidi Di Terra a Perca should definitely be on your list. Erosion, landslides, and water have created very impressive rock formations over the centuries, which shine in various colors depending on the sunlight.
7. On the Küchelberg
If you don't feel like walking but still want to enjoy a great panorama, we recommend a ride on the Küchelberg chairlift, which starts in the center of Merano. Within a few minutes, you will reach the Küchelberg, which is 170 meters above the city. In the chairlift, you will float in single seats over the beautiful landscape and can enjoy the fantastic view from above.
8. Glacier perspectives
At the Schnalstal Glacier, there is an art project titled "Our glacial perspective, 2020", which was created by the Danish-Icelandic artist Ólafur Elíasson. This artwork deals with the ice ages and climate change and can be reached with the Schnalstal Glacier cable car.
9. Into the forest
For those seeking peace and relaxation, a walk in the Altenburger Forest is recommended. From Altenburg, you can also reach a great panoramic spot, namely the Altenburg viewpoint, also called "Klotzbank", from which you can enjoy an unforgettable view of Kaltern and Lake Kaltern.
10. Excellent wines
Finally, an exquisite drop of wine should not be missing. You can find a very good selection of wines, for example, in the Bordeauxkeller Eppan or in the Winestore Bozen, where connoisseurs will be fully satisfied.
