Below you will find the highlights that should not be missing from any Merano vacation:
What must one see in Meran?
For the fascinating garden worlds, you should plan at least half a day, as here you will encounter a total of four thematic gardens spread over an area of about 12 hectares. In the center of the complex is the castle, which houses the Touriseum or a restaurant.
Tappeinerweg
Above the rooftops of Merano runs the idyllic Tappeinerweg, which is lined with more than 400 different plants.
Merano Arcades
The Merano Arcades are a colorful mixture of different locales and shops, where you can visit both traditional stores and trendy shops.
The Promenade Hall
The Promenade Hall is a place that invites you to linger. On the walls, you can admire impressive paintings created by artists in the 19th century, and once a month there is a colorful flea market.
The Powder Tower
Directly above the parish church, the so-called Powder Tower was built, from which you can enjoy a fantastic view over the city center.
The Steinach District
The Steinach District is the oldest district of Merano and even today, the narrow alleys and walls bear witness to the city's turbulent history. For example, the Passeier Gate dating from the 13th century is located here.
The Merano Thermal Baths
Very close to the old town, you will find the thermal bath area, which offers its visitors a total of 25 pools, a sauna facility, and a generously designed outdoor area.
