Hiking in the Passeiertal

Since the sun shines in South Tyrol for about 300 days a year, the country is actually a popular vacation destination all year round. Hikers and mountain enthusiasts, however, particularly get their money's worth from May to October. In spring, there are not as many travelers in South Tyrol, so many hiking trails are still pleasantly quiet, and the apple blossom also takes place then. In summer, the weather in South Tyrol is very stable and especially suitable for high alpine hikes. However, there are a lot of vacationers around especially on August 15th. The high season for hikers is in the fall, when the sky shines deep blue, the temperatures are pleasant, and you can enjoy the spectacular long-range views of the mountains. Those who also want to hike in the cold season will find various winter hiking trails around Bolzano and Merano, where you can immerse yourself in the dreamy snow-covered landscape.
