Officially, it is the German-speaking area of Italy, with the official German name being "Autonomous Province of Bolzano". To the east, South Tyrol borders Veneto, to the western part it borders Lombardy, and to the southern part it borders Trentino.

South Tyrol is the northernmost province of Italy. The province borders North Tyrol of Austria to the north. South of the Alps begins the beautiful land of South Tyrol. As soon as you cross the Brenner Pass, you are in Italy, or specifically in South Tyrol. The land belongs to Italy, although many believe it is located in Austria.
