Spronser Lakes Plateau (2126 - 2589 m)
The Spronser Lakes, the largest high alpine lake group in South Tyrol, are located high above Merano, at the end of the Spronser Valley. The ten lakes offer a unique mountain experience in a beautiful circular tour.

Ascent: From Vellau (996 m) take the cable car to the Leiteralm (1522 m) and from there take path No. 24 to the Hochganghaus (1839 m), which also offers overnight accommodation. From there, very steeply over the Hochgang saddle (2455 m; exposed spots!) descending on trail No. 7 to the junction between Milchsee and Langsee. Descent to the Grünsee and on path No. 6 to the Kaseralm (2132 m). Now southeastwards slightly ascending to the Kasersee and Pfiscthersee. Following the marking No. 25 steeply up to the saddle of the Taufen (2230 m). Beyond the Taufen, a very steep descent to the Leiteralm.
